How does RoadEye work?

You can arm your car by making free voice call. This will put a virtual fence around your vehicle, if someone drives off in your car without your permission, you will receive a text message back on your mobile phone saying "RoadEye Alert, your car has moved"

You can then make a call to your RoadEye unit Via your modem through a telephone line, the unit will receive positional data from the satellites, which will be displayed on a detailed map on your PC, (accuracy 2.8m)

What is the difference between Standard and Professional?

Standard

Live Tracking – allows user to automatically track their vehicle in real time from their PC on a street level map. Replay Live Track journeys.

SMS movement alert - notifies the user of unauthorised movement of their vehicle via SMS text message.

Automatic power saving mode - when the vehicle is stationary for a prolonged period the RoadEye unit will automatically shut down to conserve battery power.
Professional

Live Tracking - allows user to automatically track their vehicle in real time from their PC on a street level map.

History recording and download - allows vehicle movement history to be downloaded to a PC and journeys replayed on street level maps.

SMS movement alert - notifies the user of unauthorised movement of their vehicle via SMS text message.

Speed & acceleration alert - alerts the user if preset maximum speed or acceleration rates are exceeded.

Usage reporting - these reports show speed, location and mileage information on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Automatic power saving mode - when the vehicle is stationary for a prolonged period the RoadEye unit will automatically shut down to conserve battery power.



How much does it cost me to live track?

You are effectively calling a mobile phone. Prices vary, but 14p per min is an average.

Do I need to be connected to replay history?

No. Once you have downloaded your journeys, it is stored on your PC and you can replay without cost.

What happens if I choose to have my RoadEye unit installed for £99?

Our approved VSIB Engineer will contact you within four working days to arrange a suitable install date.

Do I get any warranty after purchase?

Yes. 12 months.

What SIM card is in RoadEye?

Vodafone Pay As You Go.

How much are the Text messages from RoadEye?

12p for the first three per day, 9p thereafter.

Are there any other ongoing costs?

No. Only topping up the SIM card inside RoadEye.

How do I top up my SIM card?

By logging on to www.vodafone.co.uk and following the top up procedure highlighted in the Quick User Guide. Once online you can top up with Vodafone scratch cards or register you credit/debit details.
