INDEPENDENT SAFETY ASSESSMENT (CENELEC ISA)
he task of analysis to determine whether hardware and software, which may include process,documentation, system, subsystem hardware and/or software components, meet the specified requirements and to form a judgement as to whether the software is fit for its intended purpose is a crucial one.
AEGIS is experienced in this task and can act as Independent Assessor in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 50128.
AEGIS provides Management of the fleet Design Scrutiny and Engineering Acceptance processes. We can appoint a NoBo / DeBo as part of a turnkey project or we can work closely with the NoBo / DeBo appointed by the client, whether this is our client’s own internal body or an independent externally appointed body.
Our knowledge of testing, registration and acceptance issues for both UK and foreign markets is extensive.
Our capable rolling stock engineers have many years’ experience working with all types of rolling stock including new and legacy vehicles, EMUs, DMUs, Locomotives, OTP / and OTM.
AEGIS is a Network Rail accredited Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) and we have been providing ISA services to our clients for many years.
We have a dedicated assessment team with the necessary skills required for ISA activities.
We provide a pragmatic, clear and unambiguous assessment of the adequacy of a project’s safety management process and also on the suitability and sufficiency of the required hazard identification and risk assessment.
All ISA activities are carried out in accordance with AEGIS’ established and Network Rail audited processes.We have an in-depth knowledge of the requirements and limitations of GE/RT8270 Issue 2, Assessment of Compatibility of Rolling Stock and Infrastructure, allowing us to provide engineering expertise and management support to enable clients to gain approval at optimal cost.
